Catch and Return relating to NON Trout species ref 24

This Policy provides instruction to members on the safe catch and return of any non trout species that may be caught whilst fishing our waters.

In recent years there have been a number reports of non trout species being caught, these fish could be Chub, Pike, Roach Perch, Dace etc.

Minnows and sticklebacks are excluded from this policy as members are permitted to catch minnows and use these as bait.

Basic steps in the process:

• In line with NWL advice it is the Policy of NWDAA to instruct members to return alive and unharmed any Non Trout species caught at our waters.

• In addition, please report in detail to one of the Trustees if you were to catch any Non Trout species. A photograph would be beneficial if at all possible.
